Rebekah Kebede is a freelance writer and photographer in New York City. Her work has appeared in the New Jersey Home News Tribune, India West, and Tadias Ethiopian-American Magazine. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in journalism at Columbia University.

Kebede has lived in Ethiopia, Mexico, and California. She has also worked as a policy analyst, English teacher, aid worker, community organizer, and house framer.
